I had a real DIY hero moment this morning.

I was planning to write you this morning around 9 am, but then the entire handle that controls my kitchen sink faucet fell off (pre-coffee I must add which registered as a triple-axel challenge to me), and I had no choice but to pause life and fix it.

So, despite my plans for a warm and cozy, hot coffee and a good book while dashing off a little reminder email for my free marketing & sales training on Tuesday...

There I was under the sink, learning how to turn the water off so it didn't continue to leak and spill all over the counters and onto the floor.

Once I got the water to stop spewing everywhere (yes, including in my face), then I had to figure out what actually broke, and get this - THEN I HAD TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO FIX IT. 😳

Look, I'm a handy figure-it-outer.

I have no issues with rolling up my sleeves to put in the work.... but I skipped plumbing 101 and my loving husband is upstate while I'm in Brooklyn.

There was zero chance my 85-year old Polish landlord was going to help me solve this, so I was on my own.

(Maybe you can tell by the fact that I'm writing you 3.5 full hours later that it was harder than I thought).

I found the most minuscule threaded "screw" (in quotes because never in all the IKEA furniture packets have I seen this thing), and a teensy, tiny rubber stopper.

After 2 hours of flashlights and tweezers and Allen wrenches and a magnifying glass, trying to figure out how to screw this thing back in, I finally consulted the internet with pics and Qs.

That only helped me realize that there is a LOT I don't know about plumbing hardware.

This had to be so simple.

And yet, there I was totally confused.

And that, my friend, is when it hit me.

I needed help.

I can't do this on my own. Period.

I am not stupid, I am not lazy.

I just don't know how to do this particular thing and its sucking the life out of me.

💡 And then another clear intuitive hit:

This is precisely how I used to feel when I didn't understand how my marketing system worked.

The offer, the messaging, the technology, and the sales - they all flow together in a system.

But when you're first launching an online business, you only know what you know - which is typically whatever thing you're an expert in.

You don't ALSO know the entire marketing ecosystem that revolves around the thing you know, which makes it all run like a smooth business operation.

And until you know that system - you need help.

You shouldn't try to do it on your own, because just like me trying to fix the sink, it might be all right in front of your eyes, but you still can't see the big picture of how it works.
