There are many things I miss about the early days of building a business. Most notably that delusional phase of dreaming, scheming and tons of "OMG, what if we did THIS?!" I would live in that phase forever if that alone would pay my rent and buy my groceries. But eventually every business demands that you answer a much less sexy question: Are we actually doing this or not? π³ Eventually the beautiful ideas have to become offers. And you have to look another human being in the eye (metaphorically or otherwise π) and say: I made this. I believe in it. Would you like to buy it? That moment is vulnerable as hell. I've recently watched three of my clients with completely different businesses, offers and goals, navigate some version of this. It got me thinking about what actually allowed them to move through the fear. Spoiler: they didn't become fearless. The answer is in today's episode of Mindset to Market. π§ 139: You Said You Wanted a Business. That Means You Have to Sell. And - we're just one week away my free Solopreneur Sales System masterclass on Monday, September 22. We're going to put some actual structure underneath all of this. βREGISTER HEREβ Alright prepare for the "mindset" part of this podcast to kick into a higher gear this week! π And let me know if this brings up any questions for you (sexy or not!). xo, Deborah PS. I've started cutting back my tomato plants this weekend and harvesting what feels like an absurd amount of food. Then last night I made a giant vat of vegetable soup with peppers, carrots, tomatoes and broccoli (in a miso curry base, π) and froze it to eat of the winter. Note: I made a huge mess trying to use the vacuum seal gadget that my husband bought, and it actually took me longer than I thought it would to do it all, but once I was done I felt like a champion. As I was cooking, it...
[3 min. read, 3 strategic changes, crazy π, and a π] Storytime, Reader. There was a point in my first business when we were making really good money, but life was a bit harrowing. Things started off gangbusters. We had a big spread in The New Yorker magazine and were soon catering vegan health food at premiere brand events. I was proud that our small business was making an impact in New York City. We had values and were leading the pack on eco-conscious and sustainable business practices....
[TLDR: I made you a Checklist! π] Hey Reader, I do 2 things to support my clients*: 1) Help them turn their dreams into an operational business with recurring revenue system. ππ€βοΈ 2) Help them make weekly/monthly sales πππ *Of course there are bazillion and fifty tiny little things that fall into those buckets but I can't list them all in an email. Here's what Monday morning looks like for people in both categories: You sit down at the desk, knowing you need to market your business this week....
