FOMO got me

Hey Reader,

Did I ever tell you about the time I signed up for a program I didn’t really want?

But the timer was ticking, the bonuses were expiring, and the marketer made it sound like I’d be missing out on the key to everything.

And she seemed to reaaaaally know me... and that I was feeling desperate.

So I said yes.

And then almost immediately, I regretted it.

Not because the program was bad.

It honestly wasn’t.

But mainly because I didn’t sign up from a place of clarity or alignment.

I said yes out of fear.

Out of pure, unadulterated FOMO.

And that decision left a lingering resentment I couldn’t shake.

Guest what happened next?

I brought that resentment with me to the training and hot seats.

It lingered in me until I finally admitted that this wasn't a match and quietly showed myself to the door.

Let me tell you that I would rather have spent that money on:

  • a new wardrobe, hairdo and pro photo shoot
  • a month of daily massages
  • a new car

That experience changed the way I market my offers.

I never want anyone to feel like that after coming into one of my programs.

In today's podcast episode, I’m sharing how to use urgency ethically — not to pressure, but to inspire aligned action that feels GOOD for you and your audience.

I break down the framework and key components, plus I give you examples from big names like Amy Porterfield and Stu McLaren and even walk you through how I used this exact approach in my private podcast funnel.

This group is private, but I'm opening it up to guests for the event!

You’ll learn:
→ 3 ways to use time-sensitive calls to action (with integrity)
→ How to support your audience in making decisions they’re proud of
→ Why this one shift leads to more sign-ups, better follow-through, and deeper transformation

If you’re building offers, events, or anything that asks people to show up fully, this will help you!

The word "Foundations" and a promotion for Deborah Smith's 6-month business coaching program.

Hey Reader, happy Sunday, Last week had so many bumps and obstacles, it felt like I was riding the Coney Island Cyclone in the wayback, very last car of the coaster. (🤪 IYKYK) Besides political turmoil and a very sad 9/11 memorial, I also had a personal family situation throw a wrench in my plans to spend a quiet weekend staring at the changing pigment of leaves. Instead, I'm writing you from a hospital bedside in Boston. But honestly, I couldn't be happier to be here. Life is constant change...
