Hi Reader, I'm still recovering from a looooong shift at the voting polls on Tuesday. (no complaints, would do it again!) In fact, I got up so early to be there (4 am 😳, what? I guess this is what democracy looks like? Ok, maybe I complaining a teeny bit, but we were there counting votes until 11 pm? Damn, democracy)... ...that I completely forgot to share my weekly podcast episode with you! But I have to share, because each year when November rolls around, the internet does it's thing and makes it seem like everyone has a perfectly planned Black Friday sale. Meanwhile, you’re wracking your brain, wondering if YOU need a new offer, a discount, and another sales page. Here's my take: You might just need a wreath. Think about this... When you decorate your house for the holidays, you don’t knock down the kitchen and rebuild it to match the garland. That would be crazy. You simply change the welcome mat at the door, maybe hang some lights. Your holiday sales messaging can work the same way. Keep the offer you’re great at delivering. Show people how it helps with what they’re dealing with RIGHT NOW. A sound healing session could become → an hour where nobody needs anything from you! (Possibly the most luxurious holiday gift imaginable.) A business strategy session could become → a plan for January, so you’re not thinking about your marketing while mashing potatoes! (true relief) In this week’s episode of Mindset to Market, I’m sharing how to make that shift, recognize interested people you may be overlooking, and use a simple fill-in-the-blank formula to write your seasonal invitation. 🎧 Listen to Ep 146: Holiday Sales for Solopreneurs: Sell Your Offer Without A Black Friday Discount for the goods! No kitchen demolition required, I promise. Ok, now I'm going to go take a nap. 😴 Deborah PS. I mention the November Sales Accelerator in the episode, which is taking place inside the Soul Aligned Sales Studio. [2 min read, big strategic payoff] Last winter, while seeing the tree at Rockefeller center (a timeless NYC tradition), I wandered into Tiffany’s, and something about the experience has stayed with me all year. Nobody chased me down to ask a bunch of questions about my preferences. The salesperson gave me a massive smile and a nod, like yes, you’re in the right place if you’re looking for high-quality… but then she gave me room to look around. After a few minutes, she asked what brought me...
If we've ever met in person Reader, or you've seen my IG stories, then you may know that hosting dinner parties at our farmhouse is one of my all time favorite things. I'm no pro, but I love trying to cook with whatever’s growing in the garden, setting the table with decorative elements and candles, gathering interesting people together and just generally celebrating community with the whole ritual of a sit-down meal. But, imagine I did all that… Then just sat down and waited for people to...
Quick question Reader, When someone asks about your work, what do you tell them? Do you default to talking about details, describing the program, the number of sessions, the process, or what’s included? I’ve caught myself doing that plenty of times. 🙋♀️ It's important to be able to showcase our work and put it into tangible (sellable 💰) terms. But beneath the surface of what you sell is something more important: What all of those details make possible. Sales psychology 101 says sell them what...
