Hey, Reader. I’m sure you’ve been there… Your kid comes home upset about something that happened at school. A family member needs your attention. Your launch isn’t landing the way you hoped. And in the middle of all of that, you’re trying to run a business. You need to market yourself. You're sharing the best stuff you have with a zillion strangers while basically trying to barely hold everything together. This is the part of entrepreneurship people don’t talk about enough. The emotional load of being a real human being while simultaneously trying to build something meaningful online. My podcast episode this week turned into an honest conversation about that. About the pressure to always appear “on” and be authentic while managing real nervous system stress. And the way entrepreneurship forces us into deep identity work whether we’re ready for it or not. Weirdly… Justin Bieber’s Coachella performance became part of the conversation too 😂 But honestly, what struck me most was this realization: We don't get burnt out from the work we do. We get burnt out from carrying the pressure of appearing to be ON all the time. It is indeed, exhausting. And it’s also a huge reason why I care so deeply about systems, routines, boundaries, automations, and simplifying business. Knowing your business can still move forward even when life gets hard lowers stress. So for Mental Health Awareness Month, I wanted to invite you into a little self check-in with me. ✍🏻 The journal prompt I shared at the end of the episode was: “Where in my business am I performing instead of telling the truth?” Maybe there’s something in your business right now that needs to be easier, more honest and dare-I-suggest: We want to look at the actual human being behind the business. Listen to the full episode here: I’d love to hear what comes up for you. Please always feel free to hit reply and share you POV on this or any topic as I read every email. Rooting for you, PS. In the episode I drop a reminder that I open a few spots every week JUST to have a chat with other business owners who may be considering how to clear up a pathway to simpler business operations, sales systems or just habits in general. If you feel like you need one of those, click here. |

Okay, funny story, Reader. (not the one about getting pushed into a hedge, yet) Several years ago, I was at a networking event and got asked what I do. Simple question, right? One-liner. Instead I took a breath and launched into this whole thing... "Well, I do 1:1 coaching, I build tech systems, and I have a group program, and I'm building a course, and I also do strategy intensives, and I'm considering a membership..." The woman's eyes glazed over somewhere around "group program."...
Hey Reader, I know, I know → another person telling you to get on LinkedIn. But hear me out, because this week's podcast is a good one. I sat down with Wendy Shore, a LinkedIn Top Voice, business growth strategist, and author of the brand new book Comment Currency, and guess what? She completely flipped my perspective on this platform. I have been on LinkedIn for years and basically using it as a fancy business card. Wendy helped me understand I've been leaving a LOT on the table. Here are 5...
All sales should be as easy as shooting a quick email to your people... But it turns out there's actually strategy involved! I just released a new podcast episode breaking downwhy email lists don’t convert (and what to fix). Here’s the short version: When we first start out, we're focused on getting subscribers… but often we don't take time to build a clear pathfrom subscriber → to buyer. So the list just sits there. Or you send emails…but you don't get any response. And your list starts to...
