[Scroll for 2 free classes] In 2021, I had to dismantle a multifaceted, octopus of a business operation... Multiple mobile food truck units, a commercial kitchen space in Queens, two built-in kiosks in mid-town Manhattan, weekly pop-ups inside Paypal, LinkedIn and Google corporate offices... This is not to mention 5-10 on-site movie set catering gigs per week... I know... And then... pandemic. You would think I'd mourn the loss of my chaotic teen-aged child of a business. But I was so tired. Truly, deeply, to the core of my bones... tired. I built that business on my own back and while I'm still very proud of it... I learned a hard lesson: Businesses need systems that work, even when you're not there. If you can't step away from it, then you can't scale it. Period. But as hard as it was to shut it all down, I had done a few things right. I had built a community of people who trusted me. And β I had tended thoughtfully to my email list. So - when it came time to share the bad news that we were closing temporarily (which became forever π’), I had a way to reach most of my customers, connections, peers and collaborators in a matter of minutes. I used that connection to share my story. I also used it to generously share my resources. Recipes, work systems, coping skills, honestly, anything useful, I would share it. And people began emailing me back. Would I teach a class? Would I help them set up an online asset? Could I fix their Google account or set up their domain name? Did I have time to teach a cooking class? And you guessed - that single list helped me pivot in a few weeks... From being EVERYWHERE on the ground and in the streets To teaching everything I know online. So - all this is to encourage you to treat your email list like gold. Those human beings are YOUR people. They gave you a way to directly contact them in their personal inbox. This is a far more direct and impactful way to reach them than social media. In fact, 2026 stats on the ROI for email marketing is 36 to 1. Which means you earn $36 to every $1 spent on connecting with your audience. I swear by this method of sharing and selling and I teach it to everyone who will listen. π If you are not currently using your list to make sales, but you want to... Let's get you set up to do it right. I recommend using KIT as your service provider (currently offering 25% off annual plans + full migration support through April 30). I switched from Mailchimp to KIT a while back (for many reasons) and I'm going to share how to set it up in an upcoming free training. ππ» Email Marketing & Sales Strategy 101 I'll also teach you:
If you're still weighing whether or not email marketing is a good use of your time, this training may help you see the light! Join me at either of these free trainings: Tuesday, April 21st at 7 pm ET - Register Hereβ Wednesday, April 22nd at 10 am ET - Register Hereβ I'll share the basics of how I use this operation to run multiple profitable business operations and answer any questions that I can for you! As much as I miss the old days of waking up at 5 am to make sure every facet of my wellness company was functional and then working until 10 pm before crashing like a zombie.... NOT. I do not miss it at all. I work from my laptop from anywhere in the world and can reach WAY more people. My back no longer aches. Trust me. I do not miss it that life. What I want is for more people to understand how simple it can be to get this system working for you. I hope to see you at one of those classes! xo, PS. If you use an email service provider other than KIT, that's OK! I am platform agnostic in my teaching, but I use KIT to teach demos because that is my preferred platform. I have an account on (literally) every platform and I find they simply out-perform the others in the several key metrics. PSS. I'm going to share a special bonus asset with people who come to one of those classes! You have to be there to find out what it is. π |

{TLDR: Listen for a Money Mindset Exercise] Hey there Reader! This email might completely shift how you think about your work and your pricing. (I know... Big Claims! But that's exactly what happened for me) I knew I should share this exercise because: Most women entrepreneurs are still WILDLY undercharging for their work. Spoiler: It's not because they're not as good as men at their jobs. π Often, youβre undercharging because youβre not fully seeing the value of what you do. So instead of...
New episode! π§ #116: Go Confidently Hey Reader, I was sitting in the lobby of the Renaissance Orlando when I spotted a woman I had just seen speak on stage the day before. Her talk was about how to best prepare for a project (in this case a podcast). Now, I consider myself to be a *very* prepared person... (not going to use the term OCD, but let's just say I have an EXTREMELY well organized Tupperware cabinet.) But as I listened to Julie Delucca-Collins share tips on how to best prep, I found...
Hey Reader, What has 19 years self-employed taught me about sales? That when you sell people what they actually want, in a seamless experience - they buy. Period. Regardless of the economy, the industry, or what the market is doing. So, as I was reviewing a funnels for two very different clients last week... I noticed the same mistakes coming up. Both clients have excellent offers, decent traffic and ongoing visibility. But the messaging along their customer journey was not fully aligned....
